Hi all,

Just wondering what kind of sealant is best to use for around external doors, particularly garage doors. Mine needs replacing, as per photos.

Thanks!

' External framing sealant ' - think they were asking what that means
i.e. which sort is that ?

'It means it's sealant that is designed to be used used externally ' - there are many different types of external sealants for sealing between different materials. This one looks like a joint between a painted timber door frame and brickwork. Polysulphide used to be popular for sealing to masonry but I think high polymer sealants might have taken over now as the more modern version.

Not silicone.

Acrylic mastic, polysulphide or the more modern polymer- all of which can be painted over.
