I have tried unibond all purpose sealant a few times with the same result. Shrinking, black mold and cracking.

Can anyone please advise the best material that will avoid all these pitfalls please for the kitchen sink ?

Get some "Dow Corning" silicon, I think it's the best on the market...

D C 785 is the one.....you'll need to get rid of the old stuff though.
The real secret is not to let water lie there, if you can.
You can get a really neat finish by using two parallel runs of masking tape, each about 4mm either side of the join - dead easy when its awkward to get behind the taps.

Thanks, I know it's mold resistent but it doesn't State it is resistant to shrinking.

It doesn't shrink.....in that application there's no reason for it to do so. It's one of the best products out there.

Any sanitary grade silicone will do. Just go to the local plumbers merchant.
