sealant on sealant

resealed bath on wednesday. put new sealant over old sealant. its now saturday and have noticed old sealant has now turned to squishy substance and bath is leaking again. is this because i didnt remove old silicone before sealing with new silicone. how do i fix this problem ?

Cut it all out and start a fresh!!!!!!!! New sealant will Never will bond to old manky stuff :confused:

Quick tip, before you re-seal after getting rid of the old crap, half fill your bath with water, and leave the water in till the sealants cured this allows for the movement when you get in out and less chance of splitting.

Oh an buy a decent brand not the 1.50 tube from wilkos :rolleyes:
 
Absolutely buy some decent sanitary sealant or it will be grey (if you're lucky) or black in a few months time. Good stuff should stay shockingly white for many years.
