As part of a drylining/insulation project I had to cut back some of the plaster and now need to patch it up (i'm doing this as I need to plaster behind the radiator and want to fix to solid plaster rather than board).

Do I need to seal the exposed brickwork first before patch plastering? I was thinking of using PVA to seal - how diluted should it be and how long should i leave it to dry?

Thanks in advance

If you are back to brick then you will need to apply a backing coat first.

Use some bonding, scratch it to give it a key then skim it when it is firm.

You will not need to apply pva just make sure the brickwork is clean and free of dust.
