My new sink has come without any foam strip for sealing it to the worktop. I've tracked down a variety of different waterproof foams but I'm not sure how thick it should be. Sizes range from 1.5mm upwards. Any suggetsions?

you mean like a rubbery gasket to fit under the edge?

Yes. There was some on the old sink that I've just taken out. I've managed to track some down in B&Q. It comes on a roll with some clips for securing the sink. Although some people seem to think that silicone sealant might do a better job.

IMO silicone squirted round the outside edge after fitting will be a poor substitute for a proper gasket. It will be especially difficult to apply neatly on the edge near the wall.
