Hi All,

I would like to add a double socket for tv/NowTV connections by spurring off another socket on the ring. The tv is wall-mounted, diagonally up and right (about 900mm right, about 1200mm up) in relation to the existing socket. Best practice is to go horizontal then vertical (or the reverse), and I can achieve that, but can't see a way to clip the cable inside the studwork. Any advice on how to make the best of it?
Thanks.

You would have to make a hole in the plasterboard so any method of securing would suffice - easier if you go horizontal first.

Thanks for that EFLI. I omitted to say the cable will only cross one stud horizontally, and will run up the next one over. So I can visualise about 3 clips on 7' of cable. Are you suggesting I make more holes for more clips. I'm happy to do that if you feel it appropriate. (I have become fairly expert at invisible mending!)

No.

You have to make one hole for passing through the stud.
You don't really need any clips - just support the cable at the TV socket position.

Just shape/form the cable so it falls in the right place.
Possibly another little hole at the right angle position beneath the TV socket and fix there somehow if you're keen.
