Seeing the wifi

In the dentist, I did the things which should have revealed their wifi. Nothing.
Some do see it, some don't, they said.

I was about 3m from the router.

Why would that be?
Samsung S20FE, so sort of middle aged by today's standards.

Maybe. It's not my area of knowledge. But...

If people logged on WiFi and the phone remembers connection it will automatically connect.
If the dentist turned on SSID. New people or new phones won't see connection but, those that connected before will see it and will connect.

Does the dentist allow Joe Public to use their wifi?
