I have tried to remove e the tap works of a tap but it does not appear to want to turn.Any suggestions?
A tip I can pass on to hold tap spouts while applying a spanner.Go to an exhaust company and ask them to cut you three "L "shaped lengths of old exhaust pipes of diffrerent lengths of different angle "L's ".
Best wishes

turn off water, open tap, remove tap, take to shed, put in vice, turn head gear anticlockwise.
