Another tip . shock the tap to make unscrewing easier . 2 hammers hold one against - strike t`other side of nut with other one - hammer and anvil principleI may not be Gas Safe but I know a few tricks
I think the tap will get a shock when he sees the OP coming towards him with a spanner.
