hi chaps, my missus decided she wanted some vinyl floor covering in the bathroom to replace a very shabby carpet.

removed the carpet ok, under which is a layer of hardboard over the floor boards, the hardboard IS NOT perfectly flat having been down a long time, anyway i proceeded to fit all the tiles, noting that where the floor is particularly uneven the tiles didn't stick down very well, despite this i fitted and stuck down the whole area.

now of course the missus has inspected it and wants it a bit better,

the only thing i can possibly think of is PVA glue and several bricks to hold them down while the glue dries !!!, does anyone please know if this will work ?.

thanks for looking, even if you cant suggest anything else !.

Get rid of missus and turn it into male student accomodation.

Would be best to replace with new hardboard as the tiles will never stick to uneven substrate and will crack if there are any sharp changes in levels.
Heating the tiles (gently) with heat gun or hair dryer, will soften them and help to fit and stick.

would think something like contact adhesive would be better than PVA
apply it, let it go tacky and then stick down it set almost straight away.

Yeah, thanks for that buddy, thats a dammed good idea, we used to use where i worked man many moons ago, to stick laminate on the walls of railway coaches, in a confined space it really goes to your head, as good as having two pints of beer !!, thanks.
