I need to level some of my kitchen floor - it has some fresh paint spills which I can of course get up, also some fresh sticky tile type primer which is quite hard to get up.

There is some pretty strong embedded duct tape/previous adhesive from lino. As you can see from the pics, its a bit of a mess.

Should I look to scrape/chisel off all paint/grease/adhesive etc? Haven't got a floor grinder and would prefer to use my sds drill and chisel top layer lightly to get rid of paint etc.

All depends what smoothing compound you are using. Get as much off as possible and use a bag and bottle rather then a water mix.
