Hi all, hope all is well!

I pulled up some old vinyl tiles in my kitchen months ago after testing them for asbestos which came back negative

Thought I’d get away with pulling them up however I was just left with a residue so sticky that overtime it’s just been coated with a layer of dust

Have tried scraping which does absolutely nothing against it, wd40 does loosen it but it’s still that sticky all you can really do it push it around, its very stretchy/gummy

I was looking to get some self leveller down before floating my final floor on top however I’m concerned self leveller just isn’t going to adhere to this at all so just wondered what my options were with this or if I should just admit defeat and get the pros in

Have attached a picture that shows where I’ve been able to loosen it in a small area, and you can see round the edges where it’s now just a dusty gummy layer

Would be good to get some thoughts, nice one all!

Buy a gallon of floor glue remover. I see Amazon sell floor adhesive remover

Nice one for taking the time to get back to us! Hope you’re doing well

After days of reading I was kind of steering towards the Ardex NA route, 1950’s ex council house and I’m pretty sure the subfloor is an asphalt layer about 20mm on top of concrete, think someone’s just painted it red at some point to try and match some red tiles that are down in the hallway haha

Will the NA stick to the glue alright? Was abit hesitant as I felt I was pushing my luck as it is 1-2mm thick in areas but i have no concerns of the glue lifting as it’s well and truly stuck down

Cheers!
