Hi Guy's

Going to be posting this on a couple different forums, because I am stumped... I went to a job the other day, and there was a little device, some sort of service timer, after the year was up it bleeped telling you, you need the boiler serviced. Seemed like a good idea to me, trying to track them down but keep hitting dead ends, do you know where to find this sort of device? Or the name of it?

Thanks for the help!

I know danfoss do one called ts715si its a timeswitch that can be programmed by the installer to warn before then shut off boiler to make sure it gets serviced. Im sure many more are available but that's the only one i know of.

this is a heating controller with service timer, what I was looking at was a stand-alone service timer

yeah, I was it magnetically stuck to the boiler very simple device so you know the plumbers name, and contact number straight away without having to dig for it. Where as an alarm clock only gives out when not who.

Sorry never heard of anything like that. I simply write on a sticker which has our contact number on it, i put my name, date and when next service is due. Sounds like a pointless device to me but hey we're all allowed opinions i suppose. If it has plumbers name can they not advise where it came from? Good luck in finding one.

thanks for the input, I just thought it was a good idea as most people I know don't remember to get their boiler serviced. I'll keep looking

We had a card system and sent our clients a reminder each year.

How simple is that, and invariably they asked you to do it instead of going elsewhere.

As a bonus it also meant that client got preferential treatment with breakdowns.

Very effective.

Nothing like personal contact to nudge a custard into action.
