I live in a row of 4 terraced houses. I'm in one of the middle houses . The 2 ended terraces have toilets in the front and the 2 middle houses have toilets in the back. What are the chances of us all sharing the same sewer pipe?

My sewer pipe is definitely at the rear which goes to the other middle terrace . We both have visable cast iron stack pipes. You can't see the 2 end terraced housed stack pipe only the roof vent at the front

There is a inspection drain at the rear of mine and on the shared footpath in the front between me and the other middle terrace

I'm sure I've seen a man hole on the drive for one of the end terraces. And the other has a man hole in the garden at the side of the house

Just curious after I noticed the end terraces toilets were in the front

Simply put, if the sewer only serves your property, it is your responsibility up to where it crosses the boundary. As soon as it leaves the property, or becomes shared with at least one other property, it's the Water Company's asset and responsibility.

Those with the Bathroom at the front, the drainage could run under the building to the rear, it's unlikely there would be a sewer front and back, but not impossible.
