I know a lady who was working for M&S and was saving in a Halifax account over five years to pay for share purchase options.
In year four she was ( wrongly ) dismissed after claiming damages for an injury at work. She lost the Industrial Tribunal case because they did not know that the hours limit had been changed.
She lost the ability to exercise the share option as she was no longer employed and then found the Halifax did not want to return her money!
Not always rosy even with Blue chips!
