Socket has stopped working. Replaced fuse and socket. Still doesn’t work. Tested cable going to the shaver socket but nothing coming in. What could this be? Or what would you do to fault find?

do you have multimeter to test with ?

when you say replaced socket - you mean the fused spur switch?

I would check the voltage on the supply side and if exists , then the LOAD / OUT and see if that works when switched ON

if NO power on the Supply side - then where is that supply coming from ?

The shaver might be supplied from the socket circuit or from the lighting circuit. If it’s from the former then there is a high chance that the fcu is for the shaver socket.

Was there any work carried out? I.e changing a light fitting. Most likely it’s supplied from the lights. You could unscrew the light switch/fixture to see if there is any disconnected wires.

Don’t forget to check the fuse again for continuity; if it’s blown then there is something wrong upstream.

It depends on what you have to test with, I get very lazy, my meter has non-contact voltage option, so I can put it near a socket to see if live.

It can also measure current with non-contact but does have the option of wired testing.

What you need is some way to test, and if you say what you have, then people can tell you methods to use it.
