Shaving socket earth wire

Changing shaver socket in bathroom. Old socket had an earth connection. New socket does not have earth connection. How do I manage the earth wire, which now appears to be spare?

New ones sounds like its double insulated and dosn't need earthed,coonect the earth to the box

Is your shaver socket a BS3535 outlet?

What is the earth cable you are talking about? Is it a circuit protective conductor (the bare wire in the middle of the cable) or a seperate single cable?

I can't recall having ever seen a shaver socket to BS EN 61558 which doesn't have an earth connection.

Are you certain yours does not?
