Im having a shed delivered and put together next week, and was after some advice re any prep I can do... in particular to the floor.

This is what Ive gone for, which seems to be the best I can get on the budget I have, after spending a long time researching!

The flooring does come with runners, but I want to know should I also put down some bearers for the shed to sit on. I have a new concrete base, but am thinking its best to have the shed floor actually raised, so its not in direct contact with the floor, and any water that might sit on the pad.

I was going to put some 4x2 treated bearers, on which the shed could then be built, or is this simply overkill? I was also thinking of putting some dpc between the bearers and the floor runners.

Im just trying to preserve the life of the shed, especially the floor, as its not something that could be replaced if it does ever start to suffer.

Perhaps concrete lintels every 18" or so, perpendicular to the floor runners on the concrete base, to lift the shed floor/runners of the pad, aid airflow and minimise splashback?

Either of your methods would help, but make sure that you can get into the spaces beneath the floor with a hoe or similar just to rake the leaves and frogs etc out :p
The more ventilation the better, and fix some guttering so that rain from the roof is cast clear.
Maybe you can treat the shed floor well before it is erected, too?
