Shelter lean-to

Hi All,

I'm looking to make a lean-to shelter around 5metres in length which will attach onto the side of the house and lean towards next doors fence and have a clear plastic shelter on top.

Becuase of the garden shape, Instead of the shelter being parallel it will be narrow at on and and wider at the other end.

My question is, I'm looking to-do a bird's mouth notch on the rafter leaning from the house across. As it's not a parallel lean-to, I've never had to make a birds mouth notch at an angle. Isit even possible/How do I do this?

It will be possible but I'm not sure there will be a better
way than making a template out of scrap timber.

Thank you for taking the time to read and reply. I'll give it a go with scrap wood and see how I get on.
