In house i have built in wadrobes. Want to shelve out plus put rails in. Been advised not use conti board as it is not strong enough.Shelves to have depth of 500mm, length of 1.5m approx. Local builders merchant only stock contiboard. What alternatives are there? Have seen in local 'sheds' pine shelving 18mm thick which is £30 for a 2.5m length!

That application is ideal for contiboard. However 1.5M x 0.5M could indeed be a bit floppy. Is there no way you can add a peg or any other kind of support for the shelves?

Thanks gcol. Thats what i thought. i think i will go for extra expense with pine shelving.God knows what toys etc will be put on them.Do it right once, work more overtime again

Great. Years after this thread has been posted, it became useful to me. I just popped in as I was looking for some information. And to my surprise, what I was searching for has been resolved four years before. Thanks a lot.
