A shirtless intruder (couldn't have been more obvious), gatecrashes the dinner, armed to the teeth, 5 to 8 shots were fired, the intruder was captured alive and well, and one security guard was slightly injured, after being shot at close range, because he was wearing his bullet proof vest.
He was so lightly injured he's already been discharged from hospital.

He's not cooperating with police, well he is, just enough, to say he was intending to shoot Trump.

I think you're right in that it is ***t or bust. A lot (on here at least) seem to be over estimating Iran's position, they have very few cards left to play. Trump turning the blockade on it's head and blocking Iranian ports will prove to be a master stroke.
Iran have a few weeks at best left. Without oil leaving Karg the oil storage facilities will fill up very quickly giving Iran 2-4 weeks before shutting down oil wells. Oil wells can't just be switched off and on again, it's a major process to resume production on a well and as often as not, it can't be done.
Obviously in the meantime Iran will lash out at the Gulf States with everything they've got, the million dollar question is how much have they got left?

I don't think the Americans will lose interest.
They can't afford to.
Unless Iran capitulate and hand their country over to Israel and America the war could continue.
The Iranians have made clear that there is no going back to the status quo.
They want their country to be secure and free from the threat of attack by Israel and America.
If Trump called the war off tomorrow,
there is still the problem of Israel and American bases in Gulf countries.
If Trump withdraws without achieving any of his war aims , then the Iranians will declare victory and will be in a lot stronger position than they were before the war.
The Iranians don't need to defeat the Americans militarily, they win by not losing, Trump could withdraw with his military intact and claim the war is won but no one would believe him, it would be a catastrophic defeat for Trumps ego and America.

Attacking Iran was one of his most stupid decisions and the rest of the world's enthusiasm for Trumps' war, is testament to that. High prices for the rest of the world for the next 8 months will certainly focus disdain for the scumbag, should the loss of the war in Iran, not be humiliation enough for the reprehensible scumbag.
