Should i move this tree...

I planted 4 of these in March, 3 have really taken off and have lush green leaves, but one is not looking so good. It has lighter leaves.

They are all red robins.

Now the one that has not grown as much and is a lot more bare than the rest was planted in basically clay, i literally dug out a hole 3 times bigger than recommended and filled with tree food and compost (What was recommended).

So is this the problem, and should i move it?

Try more plant food and water.

Thanks, the problem is when it rains, it's sitting in a pool of water as the drainage is very bad, will this rot the roots?

Is it possible to remove the tree and dig down and around (as large as possible) and fill will single to act as drainage.

Thanks andy, i did think of something similar, but to dig this hole i basically had to hammer and chisel, it's really that bad, because i had to dig down originally to create the tier.

I may dig a trench and try to drain it from one side, hopefully this will work.

Did a double take for a minute, saw your garden on AVF

Improving drainage is the best bet but if you can't accomplish this through increasing the hole size/trenching then as a last resort you could put the Photinia in a large pot.

Pot the plant, half fill the hole with gravel then place the pot back in the hole on top of the gravel so the top half protrudes then back fill round the sides. Looks great and works well.
