Should I return this sharp sand?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I received the red-tinted sand this weekend. To me, it looks more like plastering sand (similar to what I had not long ago) mixed with small stones.

For comparison, the brownish-yellow sand is leftover sharp sand from another supplier. That one looks grittier and more like proper sharp sand. The current merchant claims they’ve never had any complaints about the red-tinted sand.

Will this red sand be suitable for laying porcelain slabs, either in a cement bed or screed?

0 to 5mm sizes I think.
Look it up online for grading size

Fair, but the amount of smaller grains sand seems greater than other sharp sand I've dealt with before.

I would describe both as concreteing sand myself and if one is ok then so is the other.

Some "sharp" sands are pretty much single size but the grains are angular.

Sand comes in a variety of colours, only of consequent where it’s visible ( mortar).

Dare say some of the stones in the red sand look a bit on the big side compared to the size of the grains. Laying tiles on a bed of that might be a bit of a pain in arse if it's too thin.. If you can't be bothered swapping it, sieve it with some mesh less than half the size of the bed depth you're going for
