Should I take down the ceiling or lift floorboards

Hi guys i have to investigate this brown colour ation of my brown for ceiling , is coming from the bathroom that is directly above

Do you think it is better to to take down the ceiling or lift the bathroom floor

Thanks guys ill give it a go , to be honest the bath supplies seem ok as those floor boards are up
 
Far easier to lift boards
Not necessarily especially if the upstairs rooms are carpeted or have bathrooms on them or wardrobes or beds.

It's common in the trade to furnish all upstairs floors with a deck then the sparks and plumbers work from below when first fixing - during a build.

It's also more practical to lose a ceiling when the sparks are fitting many down-lights.
 
I always cut a hole in the ceiling below and take it from there, easy to fix and no problem with health and safety.

Looking at the picture of the bathroom - it IS far easier to lift some boards.

Get them up and investigate.
