we hear all about globle warming, 4x4 drinking the oil dry, gas heaters frying the sky , frogs and tadpoles on there way, out rain forests going by the day ,but the only anwers they give is put a higher tax on it , would it not be best for mother earth if we had one last globle war finish all of us off ,and let the monkeys turn out the ligths  give us affordable policys that work , which we can get the nations of the workd to obey ,but not hot air and drivell ;)

No point , in a few centuries the monkeys would be driving round in 4x4's

it is highly arrogant of people to think that we as a species can effect the entire planet to such a degree..

this "global warming" is part of a cycle that the sun goes through..

it's reaching a peak and will start to cool again soon ( in the next 3-13 years ), so all this "reduce your carbon footprint" rubish is really just a way to try and keep a reserve / stockpile of fossil fuels to be used for heat and power when the cold comes back...

[code:1]2. Dr. David Archibald. Summa Development Limited. (Australia).
a. Archibald, D.C., (2006), Solar Cycles 24 and 25 and predicted climate response, Energy and Environment, Vol.17, No.1.

Comment from paper: “Based on a solar maxima of approximately 50 for solar cycles 24 and 25, a global temperature decline of 1.5C is predicted to 2020 equating to the experience of the Dalton Minimum.”

b. Separate paper: Climate Outlook to 2030. Summa Development Limited, Perth WA, Australia.

Comment from paper: “The increased length of Solar Cycle 23 supports the view that there will be a global average temperature decline in the range of 1C to 2C for the forecast period. The projected increase of 40 ppm in atmospheric carbon dioxide to 2030 is calculated to contribute a global atmospheric temperature increase of 0.04C. The anthropogenic contribution to climate change over the forecast period will be insignificant relative to the natural cyclic variation.”[/code:1]

an excert from the Space and Science Research Center website..

you could well be right coljack, but we need to reduce the impact we have on our planet.no other species has such a devastating impact as humans.

being at the top of the food chain,we need to be more responsible.whats to be gained by hunting other species to extinction and generally completely anihillating their habitat.nothing gives us the right

But we need to reduce the impact we have on our planet
Nonsense, live for the day ... Tomorrow's another generation's problem ... Let them worry about it.

No other species has such a devastating impact as humans
Errrmmmm ... Locusts?

Being at the top of the food chain,we need to be more responsible
No, actually, you're missing the point ... Being at the top of the food chain means we can do as we like and eat everything else.

Whats to be gained by hunting other species to extinction and generally completely anihillating their habitat.nothing gives us the right
I agree that there's no point hunting to extinction as there'll be nothing interesting left to eat.

Magic articles on that Website ColJack; many thanks.
Makes a pleasant change from the daily dribble I'm spoon-fed by those that want to tax me some more and distract my attention from what's going on!

Well, I'd be a little cautious from research published by a notable non signatory to the kyoto treaty. But you may be right I suppose. I guess it's up to one to weigh up the various arguments and dcide for oneself

the world will still b turning when we are spinning in our graves. grow it ,kill it, eat it. thats the way to do it ;) get in your 4x4 to hunt it,
dont listen to shi#heads making a life for themselfs on TV spouting cra# like Al Gore flying leaving his monster carbon footprint all over the sky tell us to get on our bike or walk ,shut the f### up d### head Gore

The Greens should pay especially the sprouts

how are we at the top of the food chain?

when was the last time you ate a lion or a tiger? and given the chance, do you think they would eat you?

also, the herds of cows and such put out more greenhouse gasses than man does.. ( although it could be argued that the herds would not exist if we didn't farm them for food.. )
