shower descale

any advice please
i have recently moved into a house that has been empty for some time and the shower (a mira thermostatic) only runs hot, it looks like the valve is jammed with limescale,
is there a simple way to clean it or is it a new valve ?
can i get some limescale remover inside the unit somehow ?

Mira showers are fairly straightforward to open up and clean, but if you don't feel too sure about DIY, Mira offer a reasonable repair service priced at £55 + parts. I suppose you might end up with rather more parts replaced than strictly necessary (cartridges can be £70), but if they just clean it, it could be a good deal.
