I have a frameless shower door over the bath and it leaks between the end of the straight-edged seal and the rounded bracket - there's a gap of about 1cm or so.

To be honest, I think it's always done that, ever since I bought it a few years ago - just now facing up to the problem!

I've thought about getting a replacement seal - but I'm not sure that's going to work, as it would surely have the same problem.

I've looked at the universal seals where you cut a strip and stick to the door frame. The problem is that the gap between the door and the bath tub is over 2cm and the seals are only for up to 18mm. I have bought it nonetheless, tried to stick it on, but not enough contact to be successful. Then tried plan B, cut a small bit and turned it the other way around. Stuck wonderfully! But not enough to stop water going under yet again...

I'm a fairly logical gal, but even this is getting me flumoxed... help!!!

Think it must be the 'primary school teacher who loves teaching design and technology' bit of me!

Thanks for the responses.

The problem with it being 20mm (or so) is that there's not much for the adhesive to grip onto. If I had a seal 25-30mm then it may work. Surely there must be something out there...

'Fraid I don't know what make it is. I think I bought it in Wickes, possibly B&Q... The seal is the slide-in type, as opposed to the type which wraps either side of the door.

You might be able to reduce the gap by fixing a upvc or aluminium strip to the bottom of the shower door.

BnQ sell suitable strips or maybe your local double glazing company could help.

Araldite would probably stick pretty well to aluminium, for glass you may need something more specialist. If there is a plastic or metal section at the bottom of the door, I would use self-tapping screws and silicone sealant.

Here's my attempt at ascii art, looking horizontally from the end of the seal.

Hope that makes sense, any more questions just ask!
