This is more out or curiosity than anything else.... I've just put a fairly cheap glass shower door in... Flimsy but will do the job in an downstairs shower that's likely to see hardly any use....

I'm puzzled as to why the instructions state NOT to silicone around inside of frame... Any insights?

I had exactly the same instructions a few years ago and thought that is stupid, ignored the instructions and siliconed the inside of the frame. The first time a used it water was everywhere outside of the shower. I took the sealant of and did as instructed, worked perfectly after that, it seam water can still track to the outside if you silicone to the inside.

Water needs to be able to drain from inside the frame back into the shower tray. Never seal on the inside.
