Hi Plumbers
I have a Mira Excel thermostatic mixer shower; it was first installed in 2008, then removed last year for a new bathroom installation, then put back in. The issue is it was originally installed with a falling supply as British Gas decided the best idea would be to surface mount chrome pipework coming down from the attic above. It is now however fed from below as the pipes were chased into the wall, so the whole valve was turned the other way up; it functions fine but the hose now comes out of the top, not the bottom.
There is an option to reposition the hose to the other outlet; I tried but the silly plastic tool supplied for removing the blanking plug will not do so, it's so tight that the tool just rotates in the slot (no euphemism intended).
What I'd like to know is whether the hose being connected to the top of the valve could be detrimental to the shower's health. Would it be worth obtaining a large allen key to remove the blanking plug and does anyone know where I might get one?
Thanks!
