Have just had bathroom refit. The bath hot water tap was only trickling hot water. Our plumber who fit it all said it is either the mixer tap or we should have power pump fitted. We went for a shower pump.
Our system is cold water mains and gravity hot water heated by boiler to hot water cylinder. Large coffin cold water tank in loft and bathroom is below this but in opposite corner of house.
Stuart Turner showermate eco S2.0 bar single was purchased and fitted next to hot water cylinder.
The pump cuts in whenever a hot water tap is turned on in the house.
Now, this produces great hot water flow but maybe too much. Pump is very noisy too. Purchased damper pad which fits under pump. This has quietened down the noise a bit.
Question now is should the pump be changed to 1.5 bar or should the bath 2 tap and shower mixer be changed ? Our plumber says the tap unit is not best quality - high price range but is made especially for homebase and says fits all systems.
