I'm about to fit a pump to a thermostatic shower mixer (gravity fed) in a bungalo, is there any reason why i should not fit this in the loft space as this would appear the best spot for it?

How high up in the loft is your cold water storage cistern?

This will determine whether or not it is even possible to site a pump up there

Your only slight inkling of hope here is fitting a digital shower with a combined pump/processor such as the Aqualisa Quartz. it would need to be sited below the rafters on a specially made plinth though. You would need to check with the manufacturer as it is a borderline case. I believe it is feasible though

Can a negative head pump be fitted in the position you describe?

I'm not sure it can.
