If I decide to install a shower pump to service two small shower facilities, can I also feed two washbasins, where the taps might be opened individually? If, for instance, the two individual hot taps were opened and run for, say a minute, would this cause cavitation problems (i.e. if the cold feed was not in demand)?

Many dedicated shower pumps must be run both hot & cold together or you will damage the impeller(s). Whole house pumps incorporate a bypass loop & can be run either hot or cold independently
