Shower replacement controller

Hi

I have a small shower in the ensuite with the below controller.

It sticks out 20cm into the shower so not ideal

Does anybody know what make it is. I want to replace with a more slimline version that sits in the wall more but not sure if it has internal components that are required

Can this be replaced for a simple mixer like the below? No idea why they installed one so deep in a small shower

Yes, but you'll need to access the pipes behind the tiles to make the required alterations. They may have fitted a surface mixer because of the wall construction so you would need to check it is suitable.

Great, thanks. Just seen the price of the parts and unit of what's in there and feel bad removing it, but it is way too big for the size of shower
