Hi

What do people normally put behind a standard 150mm centre mixer shower to be installed on a stud wall?

Do they just put a couple of noggins across or maybe be a bit of ply.

Just want to get the wall ready before the plumber fits the pipes.

Have attached a photo, the shower will be mounted below the existing noggin

Many thanks

Ok, so not flush with the front of the stud, what do they screew into then as it will be just backer board and tile?

Many thanks

Fix vertical timbers to the studs either side, set back from the face of the studs by the thickness of your ply, then screw ply to that. You ply will need to be removable for the plumber to get his pipes in.

Thanks, there is void behind so assume he can just drill the 2 holes and pop the pipes through.
