Hi

I have a Triton AS2000XT power shower. Over the last week it has started going wrong.
You could be in the shower with it working 100% then after 5-10 minutes the water stops. I can hear the pump still going in the shower unit.
Have had the unit for about 2 years with no problems.

Am thinking some kind of air in the pipes!!!

Can anyone offer any advice

Thanks

Matt

Do you loose all flow ?
Does the flow come back after a short time or by turning shower off for a while then back on ?

If so check the solenoid coil in it's failed state with a multi meter.
should be 3.4 kohms or above.

The water spits a few times then nothing. If I turn the shower off for half an hour then it will be back!
If I check what you suggested and it's below or above what does that mean? New shower?

Thanks for your help

You need to run the shower till it cuts out
isolate power to shower then test straight away.
you'll more likely get open circuit reading.

If you wait to long as in yours works after about 1/2 hour you'll get a faulse reading, needs to be checked in it's failed condition.

This is what you need to check and replace.
Cost around £15
I have the pt no if you need it.

Hi

Have done as you suggested and i get a open circuit reading whether the shower is working or has just failed.
I'm guessing this means that it is not the coil that's at fault?

Thanks

Okay will replace it. Do you have the part number? Where is a good place to order it from?
Got any tips on how to get the old one off (2 pairs of pliers?)

Many thanks

Matt

This is a link to the coil.
This is where i buy all my shower parts george at showerdoc.
Watch the youtube link at the bottom of the link page it'll give you an idea.

SOLENOID COIL

Place a flat ended screwdriver between the coil and valve and slowly lever the coil foreward.
when it gets over the lug it can be pulled off.
make sure you isolate the water/elecy.

Just a thought, have you checked your roof tank to ensure it is refilling ok? Could be that your ball valve is not working properly and you are draining the tank?

worth a look me thinks

Brilliant, thanks for the link.

Yeah i have checked the tank for any problems but seems fine!

Cheers

Edit: What a fantastic video on that page. Cheers
