Hi all,
I have a vent axia selv fan in the bathroom but notice the shutter no longer opens (usually opens slowly). I think the me mechanism is burnt out as the fan it quite old. Does anyobe know what this part is called as id like to see if replacing it will fix the problem, pic attached. I notice something is popping out of the top of the mechanism (2nd pic) which i assume shouldnt be ghe xase and something has pushed rhrough iver time. Any help is appreciated!

For anyone else viewing this later its an actuator. Eltek brand model or ref KT105. its definatley burnt out after many years. Hopefully a simple swap job when i find the replacement part but it doesnt appear to be a part easily avaiable in the uk.

Correction the part is a 12 volt T105 thermo actuator, easily found on ebay currently for around 9 pounds plus postage. Needed a little soldering but fitted and seems fine. The fan i have is a selv VA100 with shutter only, no pullcord.

Well done.

It sounds like the thermal actuator/mechanical shutter unit has failed — that’s usually the part that slowly opens the flap. You may be able to replace just that module, but often it’s more practical to swap the whole fan if it’s old.
