Hello,

Novice woodworker building my first workshop. I had been buying wbp ply for the walls and then saw shuttering ply in builders providers and thought well that looks like it'd work. Found out it was much cheaper. So is it ok for workshop ceiling?? , will be fitting 5 ft Fluoro battens , is there any need to have wbp ply for this purpose.

Any info appreciated , Cheers

Have you insulation on the other side of the ply? If so use foil backed plasterboard instead.

If there is any significant risk of fire in this workshop, then you might want to avoid a plywood ceiling.

Shuttering ply can be less tolerant of humidity changes and so more susceptible to bowing, and also de laminating at the edges - but if you treat it, then it should be OK

But wbp ply is not a necessitly
