I have the above makita breaker which I use on and off all year. Was using it today on chisel mode when it stopped chiselling. The motor still worked and I checked the brushes and they are fine. Also checked to see if it would work on drill and hammer, but no luck (drill action worked nut no hammer). Greased the bits but still no joy. Has anyone any ideas, as a new one would be more than I can afford?

sounds like the part of the gearbox assembly which produces the hammer action has failed, makita parts are quite cheap, might be worth gettin fixed
