Hi I have a makita HR3000C sds rotary hammer drill that yesterday while core drilling stopped working. It just wont turn when you press the trigger, it makes a buzzing noise and tries to turn but then starts smoking and blows the RCD. I don't know if it could be the armiture or something else. (the bushes r ok)

Sounds very much like the armature to me. As neds said take it apart nad have a look then check http://www.powertoolspares.com/makita_parts.php?ModelID=1262 to see how much it will cost you to repair it.
