Can't seem to find any info if this needs building control, but i wish to build a covered patio tiled roof using brick pillars and lintels,could this be classed as carport/porch it will be under 30m2 many thanks.

Thanks Notch7 is that because it returns to back,believe it or not iv'e searched google for hours and not found a similar build in uk.
My idea is a usable outdoor area to replace a conservatory iv'e used about 10 times in 15 years(which has planning).
If the covered area is < 30 m², it would be exempt from Building Control.
If your house is less than 8 m wide, it would need planning permission, as it is a 'wrap-round'.
