Siemens Fan Oven - no Fan!

We have a Siemens oven, about 3 years old, and the fan no longer spins when set to 'fan oven'.

We also have an older (about 10 years) Neff oven with the exact same problem.

I have basic DIY/electrical skills, and wondered if anyone has any experience with this problem, which seems to be quite common.

Is it a simple case of replacing the fan motor, or is it more 'electronic'?

Could be the timer (is it set to manual?).
The fan & element are usually assembled together, easy to replace.
Ensure power is off.
Remove panels & check the wiring hasnt fallen off (they do break).
Check the fan.
