Siemens IQ1434 - leaky door seal

In a rush to get the washing in, a sock was left partially in the door. Once the machine started it twisted the sock into a knot and this appears to have permanently damaged the door seal, which now leaks.

The machine is on a 10 yr warranty and we have had it 4 months.

The dilemma - do I try to fix it myself and risk invalidating the warranty, or do I cough up and pay to have Mr Siemens fix it?

If I do attempt it myself, how easy is it to do (there are no instructions provided).

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks,

Ian

Why not ring the Siemens warranty and see what they say, you never know they may do it for you under the warranty, worth a phone call I think.
It could be a design faults which shouldn't have happen maybe ????

I have been looking at the route since posting. I seem to have to book a repair with BSH who then they come out, fix it and then decide if it is a warranty repair.

I'll try calling them and see what they say.
