I know to put silicone on the top of the bath waste were it.sits on the bath. But should I also put it on the rubber were.it.bites up to underneath of the bath?

I silicone all the compressed seals on bath and basin wastes, so yes I would.

Not when there are 200ltrs of water in the bath.
With some of the shocking waste mouldings I've come across recently, on some pricey bath's too, then no harm in a little bead of silicone on both faces to guarantee any call backs, doesn't need much at all but better safe than sorreee IMO.
Thanks and silicone on the base washer that bites up to the bath doesn't make it slip?
When testing do you fill up to the overflow so it tests this?
