Hi there, looking for a little advice. i had my pcb on my Vokera compact 24 replaced on Friday and after the guy left i realised that the hot water was not as hot as it should be so i called the company and they sent the guy back out again to fix it.He said that the board thermostat was set low so while i was at the kitchen sink telling him the temperature was right i noticed that he dropped the hot water pressure a little.Problem is there is a slight loss of pressure upstairs in the shower room and i don't want to call out the engineer again as it 25 miles away, is it possible to adjust it myself.

thanks Martin

I think you were told a fib that the PCB stat was set low. What he did was reduce the water flow through the boiler for greater temperature rise. What you need to be aware of is, cold water will be clocking a temperature of around 18 (in your area at the moment). Come the winter it will be sitting at around 5. Hot water will be tepid.

For a compact 24, you should get 9.5l of water from the hot tap. This flowrate will raise the cold water temperature by 35 degrees C. So, for incoming cold water of 18 degrees C, you will get 53 degrees C at the tap.

Your boiler already has a flow regulator, that allows precise flow of water through the boiler, therefore should not need to be 'throttled' for acceptable hot water temperature at the tap unless the gas line is undersized

or the restrictor has been removed.
