I am on the search for a single electric oven. When my Kitchen fitted with appliances, the oven supplied ran off a 13amp plug. Hence in my kitchen I don't have a separate cooker circuit.

A lot of the single ovens I like say they must be hardwired. Why are some single ovens on plugs and some on hardwiring. Is it the power kwh output?

Could a oven which says must be hard wired could have a plug fitted?

if it says hard wire, then i'm afraid it has to be.
It is a power thing, normally if its under a total wattage of 2800, then a 13 amp socket should be man enough.....over that , then its hard wired .

Recommendation in regs to put all appliances above 2kW on own circuit.

Regulation in book says you must follow manufacturers instructions.
