Good morning team,

Not sure if this question sits in woodwork/carpentry or flooring but here goes!

Just had a DIY-Kitchens delivered (Linwood range in Carbon, absolutely fantastic quality for anyone thinking of one) and need to make a start on getting it fitted. The fitting will be taking place before LVT flooring and a thin self levelling screed will be required before this goes down.

Is there any reason why the units cannot be sat on top of sheets of thin (9-12mm) ply so that the levelling compound doesn't flow under the units, get all in the feet etc? Basically to act like a 'dam'. Feels like it would also make the future removal/replacement of integrated appliances easier and less risk of damaging the floor (e.g. can easily be pulled straight out onto card/sheet etc).

Many thanks in advance.

The floor should butt under and slightly beyond the plinth to leave a clean joint. The compound should be easy to remove when its hardened if some gets through.

Blup
