Hi all
I have removed a radiator as room is being skimmed.
What is the protocol regarding the rad brackets?
Is it ok to leave them fitted and get the plasterer to skim round them?
I'm not keen to remove them as I then face the risk of refitting them in slightly wrong position to marry up with the existing pipework.
Cheers Doug

Remove brackets and put longer screws in the fixing holes is my advice. Then tell the plasterer not to remove the screws

After skimming the holes should be visibly darker as it sets, so you could mark them at that point

Transfer holes with pencil on some wood that's standing on floor to mark heights.
Scratch brackets where screws are located.
Marks brackets left and right. Might be obvious which is left and right but I always put an L and R on the brackets.
Leave screws in holes. I've lost the odd hole over the years when skimming but by marking height on wood I could always find correct position.

Never skim around brackets. It's not the way
