skimming ceiling that has been stripped with wallpaper removing paste?

Hey all, I got a bucket of wallpaper removing paste I need to get rid of so thinking of using iot to strip the paper off my ceiling. Though was just wondering will any paste residue interfere with the 50/50 pva application before the plaster skim?

i wouldnt. cant you just slit an soak the paper then scrape it off?
