I have just added an extension to my lounge giving me an overall room size of about 5.5m sq. One of the walls has bi folding doors 4.4m wide.
The new extension part has been drylined ( half of the room size). The existing/old part of the lounge has a 'orange peel' type texture on the walls and that part of the ceiling has artex ( put on in 1997).
I'm not too sure which is the best way of finishing the walls and ceiling. Obviously skimming by a professional is No1 choice but this comes at a price.
If I was to tape up the joints etc what sort of price would a plasterer charge per day? I would imagine it would take a couple of days?
Secondly, in the extention which has been dry lined - could I simply just tape and fill the boards then rub down and paint - saving me a few quid? Or is this false economy - as it would take me a day to do this and I could of had a plasterer in?
Finally, is there any descent plasterer out there who wants this job in Eastbourne!! Empty clean room with no furniture to move!
regards
