hi forum

2 pipes (15mm copper hot and cold) will be chased through a breeze wall that will be skimmed with rapid set floor tile cement, i've got concerns to do with

1) proximity to each other they will be close together and I want to minimise heat loss from the hot to the cold - thinking of padding between them with an old bicycle tyre. or something reccomended for the job.

2) expansion/contraction, how to stop it cracking the render if it would.

3) water hammer effect, not sure what the outcome of years of this would be to the wall ot render.

Is there a special foam i can use to fill the gap, plastic conduit is out of the question aas there will be 3 90 degree bends (dont want joins in inaccessible pipes)

bert.

Fit foam lagging to each pipe, its tailor made to fit 15mm pipe

one of the guys on here recently suggested "celafelt" to me for a similar issue. Hard to buy this in the sheds or plumb center etc...etc... i got my online from BES. Should solve your concerns. V cheap too.

have them acessible then? if your concerned the pipes are going to be too close together then as suggested you will need to space them to stop bacterial growth like leagonela, you will have to either put them in flexible piped conduit, or have them lagged, then covered over.

if their not coverd if will crack the render no doubt.
